About Claire Douthwaite MBACP

Hello! My name is Claire. I am a qualified counsellor in Private Practice based in the heart of Kendal town centre in Cumbria. I offer a safe and confidential service tailored to meet your needs. I am a BACP Registered counsellor and my approach is Person-Centred. I qualified in 2017 and have been building my own practice ever since. The vast and heavy commitment of training to be a qualified counsellor meant hundreds of hours training with many essays and case studies. I completed my training with the mental health charity Mind which gave me a wide experience of many different people, their difficulties and how these struggles affect daily lives so deeply. Sadly, anxiety and depression seem to be best friends. My commitment is now with my own clients, and I love my job whole heartedly. It is a privilege to be alongside people on their journey to a more peaceful destination through the counselling process. Welcome to therapy with Claire.
