At Direct Gaskets Limited we are distributors and stockists for Gland Packing. We have 3 main types of Packing: Graphite, P.T.F.E. and Greasy. Inherent in graphite is an unusual blend of properties physical and chemical, that led to its acceptance as an engineering material of consequence. With the development of forms readily adaptable to fluid sealing, full advantage can be taken of these properties in products well-suited to valve and pump applications. A low friction characteristic, high thermal conductivity and relative chemical inertness enable this packing to be used successfully in steam, solvents, hydrocarbons, most acids and alkalis, and many other media with the exception of strong oxidising agents. No longer is P.T.F.E. considered a remarkable but expensive material reserved for those occasions when no sound alternative can be found
