At Greggs, a lot of our food is made or baked fresh every day, which means that at the end of trading any unsold items must be removed from our shelves. To reduce waste, as much of this surplus food as possible is sent to our Outlet shops, where it is sold the following day at a discount. We now have 45 Greggs Outlet shops, offering big savings on day‑old products to support people managing tight household budgets. These openings mean that every one of our food manufacturing sites now has an Outlet shop nearby, allowing us to redistribute surplus food from both our production facilities and our shops more effectively. Our Outlet shops also play an important role in supporting local communities. A portion of the profits generated are donated to The Greggs Foundation, which then shares this funding with local charities and community groups. This helps direct money back into initiatives that are working to tackle food poverty and support those most in need.
