About Openshaw Karate Club

Get the fitness you've always wanted whilst improving self-confidence, focus and discipline. Learn self-defence techniques, competition fighting, sparring and grappling. Traditional Shito-ryu Shukokai Karate with a modern open-minded approach to training, our classes are formal but with a friendly atmosphere. Progress at your own pace, however students are encouraged to undertake regular belt gradings with the aim of achieving the coveted Black Belt. Male/Female, any age from 5yrs upwards, no previous experience necessary - all will gain benefits from Karate. Instructors are enhanced DBS checked (formally CRB) and all members are insured through the EKF. Openshaw Shukokai Karate Club believe that Karate should be accessible to everyone, therefor the club is pay as you train and we offer discounted training fees if siblings/family members train together. The first lesson is free so you have nothing to lose by giving it a go, please contact the club for more details and Information.
