About Porthallow

The Five Pilchards Inn is a Free House, restaurant, and bed and breakfast situated next to the beach in the old Cornish village of Porthallow, on the Lizard Peninsula in South West Cornwall, established in 1830.Our early 19th Century Inn is located in a unique position at the exact mid point of the South West Coast Path National Trail and provides the start or end to a perfect day for walkers. This truly inspirational coastal path captures 630 miles of heritage, wildlife, geology and scenery. A granite midway marker stands on the beach, just 50 yards from our front door, so what better stopping off location for food, drink and accommodation.In March 2020 we completed our full refurbishment of the five ensuite bedrooms, with brand new bedroom and bathroom facilities. Our guests can enjoy sea views in four of the five rooms.
