About Rachid Hanbali, Fine Oil Painter

Rachid Hanbali was born in Sidi Ifni in Morocco. He studied Fine Art in Tetuan in Morocco, and later did a Fine Arts degree in Granada, Spain.Although he is now based in London, he spends a part of each year painting in Andalusia. He is versatile in his subject matter- landscapes, seascapes, portraits, animals in his signature style which is a blend of figurative and impressionistic. His talent is to bring life to his characters and scenes, creating atmosphere and life. Recently he has branched out into a more impressionistic style and is constantly experimenting. In 2009 he was awarded the Creativity Award by the government of China at ' Art Fusion Beijing' , has been selected to exhibit twice with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters at the Mall Galleries in London. Rachid has been shortlisted in 2015 and 2016 for a number of important awards and exhibitions including the Columbia Threadneedle Prize, the Dubai International Emerging Artist Award and the Ashhurst Emerging Artist Award.
