About Southport Crazy Golf

Southport Crazy Golf also known as The 'Masters' originally called 'Arnold Palmer' was opened in 1965. Mr Law, a canny Scott, an excellent golfer himself, had this dream of owning his owning putting course, he bravely risked all he had to take on the franchise. It was the very first course to be built in the UK and is still run today by the same family. Over the years the putting course has fondly become known as 'Southport's Crazy Golf '. This is an 18 - hole miniature golf course with obstacles situated around the course to challenge all players, such as the Windmill, Lighthouse, Hurdy-Gurdy and the Helter-Skelter. The layout is in the form of a rectangle, some of the designs are thought to be of historic interest, symbolising such things as the Space Race Rocket Ship, industry, for example the Watermill, also The Helter-Skelter, a nostalgic homage to the thrills of the fair ground.
