For over 40 years our independent opticians in Cowes has cared for the visual needs of countless families from the Island and beyond and now, with Covid-19 in mind, we were the first practice on the island to have invested in Optomap Ultra-Widefield Imaging for a safer eye test for all our patients and the optometrists! Early signs of disease can often be present in the periphery of the retina and can remain undetected with traditional tests and standard retinal photography. Optomap ultra-widefield imaging is a quick and painless test that lets us view up to 80% of your retina in a single image where standard photography might only capture 15% at one time. Best of all, with Covid-19 and safe working practices in mind, this is carried out at a much longer working distance than traditional tests helping keep you and us as safe as possible from Covid-19.
