My job as a French polisher is to bring the colour and vibrancy to your furniture a lot of polishers past and present particularly from 1870s to present date use colour polish in abundance to colour wood good polishers carefully stain wood and polish with lightly tinted polishes such as Button polish a slightly orange or garnet polish brownish in colour.Just using dark colour polish which at its worst is like paint this quicker cheaper way of polishing results in what is known as Georgian brown Mahogany through out the trade and else where.When hand polished wood is often a mgamut of colour and interest please look at my images . There are good reasons why a lot of Mahogany is Brown and I will be returning to subject in more depth soon.
