About jbletterpress
I trained as a letterpress printer in the 1970s and completed a five-year apprenticeship as a compositer and printer. I have worked as a editorial design during the whole of my career and collected all my letterpress equipment during this time with the plan to open a workshop. jbletterpress was started in the spring of 2015 and began running workshops by the summer. It is run by me John Bradley. I have a large collection of wood type and lead type as well as an Albion hand press and recently aquired an Heidelberg automatic press too. I run workshops traching this craft to practising designers as well as complete beginners. I also teach graphic design students too. I also print my own work which is a mixture of letterpress prints, collages and montages created using my materials. I also work to commission for magazines and design companies wanting typography that's different.
